Romance oozing from it's seams, this last week has been nothing short of luscious to my lusting palate.
Alluring guests through an almost arromatic ambience and loyalty-invoking fancy feasts, Spanish-influenced Tapas bar, Peasant, provided the perfect scene for an unfolding romantic rendezvous last Saturday night. Located at the Palace Barracks in Brisbane's suburb of Paddington, Peasant is the epitome of rustic, offering a menu that incorporates numerous traditional techniques, and meals embellished with wholesome fresh market-style ingredients. From raw beef to seafood, to strictly vegetarian, there are options to suit many varying culinary preferences. The banquet-esque dining areas, furnished with hardwood seating, hand-sketched chalk murals, and candles in prominence to harsher lighting options, enhance the provincial atmosphere and set the tone for an intimate dining experience fueled by indulgent flavours. Impeccable service is Peasant's most impressive attribute, leaving no glass unfilled, no questions unanswered, and most importantly, no prolonged wait for meals. Just as fast as Tapas Bars spread like wildfires across Brisbane, so too did proclaimations of love leading up to February 14th. With food and flirtations (or even just friendship) a well married pair, it seems only natural to dine out amidst the bouquet-dotted streets on the ever so controversial Valentine's Day. Following suit, my beloved and I headed to Noosa for a day of sun, sand, and seafood. Beach front restaurant Bistro C, set the tone for a breezy day thanks to its helpful staff, still radiating cheer despite the endless flow of diners. Not quite hungry enough for our favourite dish, pan-friend Atlantic Salmon Steaks, we managed to satisfy our seafood cravings with a tender egg-fried calamari entree' and a Portugese mixed seafood hotpot main to share. With decore' reminiscent of a contemporary beach-chic styled house, it wasn't hard to feel right at home. Also a popular choice for wedding receptions, Bistro C is quite evidently a provider of quality and endorser of love. Visit this link to view the menu options.
