Already an avid Heston Blumenthal follower, observing the ingenious delicacies served up in renowned restaurants (e.g. L'Enclume) throughout this film only made me salivate more for gourmet creations. Produced in 2010 and originally released in the form of a segmented television series, 'The Trip' combines true British food and "funnies" in a pleasant little afternoon film about the importance of priorities and the meaning of friendship. Featuring actors and impressionists Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as themselves, yet easily mistakably (in an auditory sense) as big name actors including Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, and Sean Connery, the film offers an interesting portrayal of the life of a respected food critic for the UK's Observer.
