Did the last Billy Goat to confront the hungry troll and cross the bidge to the lush green meadow say "Sh*t! It's synthetic lawn"? No. He trotted over to his brothers and enjoyed life on the real greener grass. So I ask you this, why is it that in our quest to discover a 'greener' life, are we met with such dense obstacles and apprehension?
Thankfully, soft-drink giant Pepsi, has recognised the revolution and recently unveiled its contribution to a sustainable future. In 2012, PepsiCo is said to pilot production and hopefully commercialise the world's first PET plastic bottle composed entirely from plant-based and fully renewable materials. The bottle, made from switch grass, pine bark and corn husks, is 100% recyclable, without compromising the products' global identity.
With just as much zeal, I introduce to you an intiative I have irrevocably fallen in lust with. Greenies, get excited - the eco-friendly future is upon us! This is all thanks to the little English villages of Todmoerden and Huddersfield, who have taken "neighbourhood flower pinching" to a whole new level, replacing council plants with vegetables, and encouraging local residents to help themselves, as Hugh Fearnley from the British TV series River Cottage explains:
And with that, go 'vegefy'!
